What is ABA Therapy
ABA Therapy (Applied Behavior Analysis)
is an evidence-based intervention that helps develop skills and reduce behaviors that interfere with learning and daily life.
It focuses on understanding how the environment influences behavior and uses structured and personalized strategies to promote meaningful progress.
ABA works on areas like communication, behavior, social skills, independence, attention, waiting tolerance, and early academic skills.
It is especially beneficial for children and adults with autism or developmental challenges.
The ABA team includes a BCBA, BCaBA, and RBT, who design and implement individualized programs to help
each person reach their full potential.
Who is ABA Therapy for?
ABA Therapy supports children and youth who need help in areas such as communication, behavior, social skills,
and independence. It is especially helpful for families with children on the autism spectrum or with learning challenges.
The goal is to help each child develop their potential at home, school, and in the community.
Sessions can take place at home, school, community settings, in-center, or via telehealth, depending on the family’s needs.
Who makes up the Promise Path team?
The Promise Path team is formed by trained professionals committed to each child’s development:
• BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst): Designs and supervises individualized therapy plans.
• BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst): Provides clinical
support and works closely with the BCBA to ensure treatment quality.
• RBT (Registered Behavior Technician): Works directly with the child following the designed plan.
We collaborate as a team, in constant communication with families, ensuring meaningful, science-based progress.
How is the service covered?
ABA services may be covered through medical insurance, including
Medicaid plans and private insurers, depending on each family’s coverage.
We also offer private pay options. Our team guides families through verification and authorization so the process is simple and stress-free.
How does my child qualify for behavioral therapy?
A child typically qualifies for ABA Therapy when they have:
1. An evaluation or diagnosis of autism, developmental delays, behavioral challenges, language delays, or learning difficulties.
2. A medical recommendation (pediatrician, neurologist, psychologist, or specialist).
3. Insurance authorization, if applicable.
If the family does not yet have a diagnosis or evaluation, we can guide the entire process.
Our goal is to help every child who can benefit from ABA receive the support they need as soon as possible.
What skills can a child develop with ABA Therapy?
ABA Therapy helps children learn skills that support growth and independence. Some of these areas include:
• Communication and language (requesting needs, expressing ideas)
• Social skills (sharing, playing with others, taking turns)
• Behavior and emotional regulation (tantrum reduction, waiting tolerance, following instructions)
• Independence (dressing, eating, hygiene, home routines)
• Attention and learning (participating, completing tasks)
• Basic academic skills (colors, numbers, letters, writing based on age level)
The main goal is for each child to develop confidence, independence, and success at home, school, and in the community.
What are the benefits of ABA Therapy?
ABA Therapy gives children the tools they need to reach their full potential. With personalized,
evidence-based intervention, children learn skills that transform their daily life and their families’ lives.
At Promise Path, we guide each family step by step so the process is clear, supportive, and filled with meaningful achievements.
